Well first of all, welcome to my blog. =)

I am 18 years old, and headed to Swaziland, Africa in September as a first year missionary.

And I am excited.

Terrified.

Nervous.

But Excited.

Anxious.

Impatient.

But Excited.

Frantic.

Busy.

But mostly excited.

Excited to be in God's will.

=) Knowing that I am surrendering to the call placed on my life by my Lord brings the greatest peace that could ever be felt. Unfortunately, my human side puts up a good fight. "Why would you go to Africa martha? Why at this point in your life? Why leave the family and friends that you love? Why put off your education? Why not just live the day-to-day Christian, American life? Why not be content with an occasional devotional and church on Sundays?"

Though the questions torment me at times, God is constantly reminding me of the answer.

God calls me to more than that. God has called me to be a disciple for Christ, no matter what that entails. Why be nervous when you are resting in the will and the hand of the Almighty God?

Why do the everyday things when following God's Will can bring you so much more peace and fulfillment?

Why not trust the God who has never failed you?

Shew..I dont know about you..but those answers and revelations from my God have smacked me in the face more than once.

So there it is. Call me crazy. But I am excited. After all, look at all the things God has blessed me with. I cant wait to see what God has in store for me. =)

Please pray right now for me to always listen to God's plan and not be sidetracked with my selfish thoughts. Pray that I will keep consistently working on paperwork, support-raising, and all of the other things that have to get done so that I can be prepared for this trip. Pray for the hearts and the lives of the people our teams with come into contact with. Pray that God will begin now working on  and preparing their hearts.
